Ruben de Wilde (1986, The Netherlands) is a Dutch photographer working across fashion, portraiture and cultural heritage.
He started working professionally in 2016, photographing for international fashion magazines including Vogue Netherlands and Vogue Ukraine. Over the years, he mainly focused on commercial photography, working with a wide range of fashion brands, magazines and creative projects. This work gave him the freedom to build his own style and gradually develop personal projects alongside his commercial work.
De Wilde’s photography is strongly influenced by cinema. He uses light, composition, atmosphere and human emotion to create images that feel like part of a larger story. His work often focuses on character, mood and the relationship between people and their surroundings.
Outside of photography, De Wilde has a strong interest in Dutch history and architecture. Together with his partner, he worked on the restoration and reconstruction of an 18th-century Dutch state monument in Naarden-Vesting, where he was born and raised. The building later became their family home and the home of a gallery they established, showing photography, art and collectibles.
His clients and collaborations include Vogue Netherlands, Vogue Ukraine, Dapper Dan, Sleek Magazine, Scotch & Soda, Le Bonnet, Filling Pieces, de Bijenkorf, Lois Jeans, Gallery Naerden, Jupe by Jackie and Rika Studios.
